Over 25 years of success in St. Louis.

The Do the Right Thing initiative began in 1990 during a Miami Police Department awards ceremony, when the Chief of Police recognized a teenager who turned in a loaded gun found at school.  The national non-profit organization is headquartered in Miami, Florida, and has since grown to over 50 chapters across the US. In 1994, Metropolitan Police Chief (and eventual Mayor) Clarence Harmon introduced the initiative to the St. Louis area.
